Quincy's Interfaith Social Services' food pantry serves about 500 school-age children each month. Every year the organization solicits help for a back-to-school backpack drive for those children. East Church's combined Benevolence and Christian Education committees committed to providing 10 fully stuffed backpacks. The East Church community rose to the challenge, providing three times that number of stuffed, ready-to-go backpacks. On Sunday, July 24, the collected backpacks were blessed and dedicated during the AWE worship experience.
