How cautious do we need to be? Do we REALLY need to wear a face mask if we are participating in a physically distanced, virtual worship experience?
The answer is, obviously, no (even though that dude on the tropical beach is rocking the look).
East Church members and friends were encouraged to have face masks with them for worship on May 10 (Mother’s Day coincidently) for a couple of reasons. First, we have a committed group of sewers who are spending their quarantine time producing face masks. Some of these sewers will be featured in upcoming posts. Their work was honored as Pastor Shelly blessed the masks we wore. Second, the sermon pointed out that wearing a mask when out in public is a very concrete expression of love for our neighbor. If that doesn’t make sense, listen to her message on East Church’s website. How VERY strange it was to look at a screen with familiar friends all masked.
