The first Sunday in the season of Advent features a service in which the Church School presents readings explaining the elements used symbolically to increase our understanding and appreciation of the season, such as evergreen garlands, holly swags and poinsettia plants. Between each reading an Advent hymn is sung by the congregation and the children and youth decorate the sanctuary with that element.
